Korean Aesthetic Device Brands: Who Makes What
Medically reviewed by Jane Yoo, MD, MPP, dermatologist and Mohs surgeon. Last reviewed 11/04/2026.
The short answer: South Korea is one of the world’s largest centers of aesthetic device manufacturing. A handful of companies, including Classys, Jeisys, Lutronic and others, build devices for energy-based skin tightening, resurfacing and pigment treatments that are sold around the world. Knowing who makes what helps you read device names with more confidence, but the device matters less than the doctor, the plan and the match to your skin.
Why Korea matters in aesthetics
Korea has a strong medical-device industry and a large domestic aesthetic market, and companies there iterate quickly. Many of the radiofrequency, ultrasound and laser platforms now used in clinics worldwide originated there.
The major players
| Company | Known for | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Classys | Ultrasound and radiofrequency tightening platforms | Combined with Ilooda in 2024. |
| Jeisys Medical | Radiofrequency and microneedling platforms | Sells internationally under several device names. |
| Lutronic | Lasers and RF microneedling | Joined with Cynosure to form Cynosure Lutronic. |
| Other Korean manufacturers | Lasers, RF and light-based devices | Names change as companies merge and rebrand. |
Brand and product names change frequently, so confirm every entry against each company’s current site before publishing. Do not list a device on this page unless you offer it. If you want to mention a device you do offer, link to its service page.
What the categories mean
- Monopolar and bipolar radiofrequency: heats tissue to tighten skin and stimulate collagen
- Microfocused or high-intensity ultrasound: delivers focused heat to deeper layers
- RF microneedling: combines tiny needles with radiofrequency
- Fractional lasers: create microscopic treatment zones for resurfacing
- Picosecond lasers: very short pulses used for pigment and texture
Compare devices within the same category. A radiofrequency device and an ultrasound device are different tools and are chosen for different goals.
Marketing names vs. clinical results
Brand names move fast and the same device may be sold under different names in different countries. Cleared or approved indications vary by region. Before booking, ask:
- What is this device cleared for?
- Who is performing the treatment, and what is their training?
- What results should I realistically expect, and over what time?
- What are the risks for my skin type?

Frequently asked questions
Are Korean devices as good as American or European ones? Quality varies by device, not by country. Look at the clinical evidence and your practitioner’s experience.
Are devices from Korea cleared by the FDA? Some are and some are not. Ask which device is being used and what it is cleared for.
Does the brand matter more than the doctor? The practitioner’s judgment, technique and the right patient selection matter at least as much as the device.
