How It Works

Hollywood Spectra uses two wavelengths: 1064nm, which penetrates deeper into the dermis and is effective for deeper pigmentation and overall skin rejuvenation, and 532nm, which targets more superficial pigmentation in the upper skin layers. Energy is delivered in ultra-short nanosecond pulses, creating what the manufacturer describes as a nano-acoustic effect. Rather than relying purely on heat, this approach uses rapid pressure waves to disrupt pigment while minimizing thermal damage to surrounding tissue.

The handpiece uses a non-contact floating technique, meaning it does not touch the skin directly during treatment, which helps maintain consistent energy delivery across the treatment area.

What It Treats

Hollywood Spectra is used for melasma, age spots, post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, and other pigmentary concerns. It is also used for the Hollywood Laser Peel, a treatment that combines low-energy laser with a topical carbon application to improve skin texture and reduce pore appearance with minimal downtime. Additionally, the device is used for acne management and tattoo removal.

What to Expect

Treatment sessions typically range from 15 to 45 minutes. Most patients describe a mild snapping or warm sensation during treatment. Downtime varies depending on the indication: the Hollywood Laser Peel involves little to no downtime, while pigmentation treatments may cause temporary darkening of treated spots before they fade over one to two weeks.

The number of sessions needed varies by concern. Melasma and tattoo removal generally require multiple treatments, while skin rejuvenation protocols may show results more quickly.
