Belotero Volume: Natural Midface Volume, Now at Our Practice

If your cheeks have lost some of their fullness over time, or you were simply born without much natural projection there, Belotero Volume is a new FDA-approved option designed specifically to restore that structure without looking overdone. It’s the newest addition to the Belotero® family of biomimetic hyaluronic acid (HA) fillers, and Dr. Jane Yoo will be among the first providers in New York City offering it.
What Belotero Volume Is Used For
Belotero Volume is FDA-approved for deep injection, placed beneath the skin and, in some areas, down at the level of the bone (supraperiosteal), to:
- Replace lost volume in the midface
- Correct contour irregularities or asymmetry in the cheek area
It’s approved for adults 22 and older, reflecting that facial bone and soft tissue are still maturing in the early twenties.
Why It’s Different: Biomimetic CPM Technology
Belotero Volume is built on Merz Aesthetics’ Cohesive Polydensified Matrix (CPM®) gel technology, the same science behind Belotero Balance, now engineered for deeper placement. Rather than a single uniform gel, CPM combines zones of higher and lower HA density within the same product. In practice, that means the filler can provide structural lift where you need support while still integrating smoothly into surrounding tissue and moving naturally with your facial expressions, rather than sitting as a rigid, separate layer under the skin.
For patients who want a cheek that looks restored, not augmented, this integration matters. It’s part of why Dr. Yoo, whose practice is built around natural-looking results rather than dramatic transformation, was interested in bringing this product in.
What to Expect
Consultation: Dr. Yoo evaluates your midface structure, bone support, and skin quality to determine whether volume loss, contour asymmetry, or both are contributing to what you’re seeing in the mirror , and whether Belotero Volume, a different filler, or a combination approach is the better fit.
Treatment: Belotero Volume is injected at a deep level in the cheek. Most patients complete treatment in well under an hour.
Recovery: As with any injectable, some temporary swelling, tenderness, or bruising at injection sites is normal and typically resolves within days.
Results: In clinical studies submitted to the FDA, the vast majority of patients treated with Belotero Volume were satisfied with their results for as long as 18 months — making it a longer-lasting option within the midface volumizing category.

Belotero Volume tends to be a good fit for patients who:
- Have noticed flattening or hollowing in the cheeks with age
- Were never born with much natural cheek projection

Important Safety Information
Belotero Volume is intended for use by a licensed, trained healthcare provider. As with all HA dermal fillers, it should not be used in patients with bleeding disorders, a history of anaphylaxis or multiple severe allergies, or a known hypersensitivity to lidocaine or amide-type anesthetics. Injection into blood vessels can, in rare cases, lead to vascular occlusion, tissue damage, or vision changes.
