Lipomas

Lipomas are soft, rubbery lumps of fat that lie under the skin. They are non-cancerous and can vary in size.

Characteristics:

  • Can be moved slightly under the skin when touched.
  • Most often found in adults.
  • Typically painless and harmless.

Treatment:

  • Usually, no treatment is needed unless they grow large or cause pain.
  • Surgical removal is an option if desired.
